Mystery Diners Program

The Mystery Diners program is provided by the management of UChicago Dining. Mystery Diners are students, faculty, and staff of the University of Chicago who dine in our venues and respond to surveys about their dining experiences.  Participants can complete surveys based on their visits to the dining halls, academic cafes, and retail markets on campus.

The purpose of each Mystery Diner report is to provide UChicago Dining with valuable information that reflects the student and guest experience. This information can then be used to make necessary changes to ensure total customer satisfaction.

A Mystery Diner’s visit can occur any time a unit is open: weekdays, weekends, breakfast, lunch, dinner, beginning of the meal, end of the meal, or near the closing of a retail operation.  UChicago Dining hopes that the data produced will prove helpful in motivating, training, and rewarding the dining staff toward continued improvement of our dining program.

This program is full for the rest of the academic year.  To inquire about becoming a Mystery Diner in the fall of 2013, please email Ursula Wheeler at uwheeler@uchicago.edu.
