Something for Everyone

UChicago Dining offers delicious selections for various diets, including:

Kosher

Dedicated Kosher Stations are available at Cathey and Bartlett Commons. These stations are approved and staffed by the Chicago Rabbinical Council.

Halal

Dedicated Halal Stations are available at Cathey and Bartlett Commons. Halal food is also served for lunch in Pierce Dining Commons on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and for dinner every Friday.

Vegetarian

Vegetarian options are available at all three dining halls each day. Pans, serving utensils, and knives for vegetarian dishes are all color-coded with green handles.

Vegan

Vegan options are available at all three dining halls each day. Pans, serving utensils, and knives for vegan dishes are all color-coded with blue handles.

Gluten-Free

All three dining halls offer daily options for diners with gluten intolerances, including plain grilled chicken breasts and hamburgers; steamed vegetables, plain rice noodles, steamed brown rice, and plain baked potatoes; gluten-free cereal and bread; and gluten-free desserts.
