Important: The catering fund has a finite amount to allocate to student groups each quarter. Submit your application early to take advantage of the fund.

All Student Organization Catering Guidelines

Requests must be received by UChicago Dining via email at cateringfund@uchicago.edu prior to the review date. Applications are reviewed every Tuesday. Events must take place at least 14 days after the next review.

Note: Submissions receive a response within 24 hours of review.

All Applications Must Include the Following

1. A brief description of your event.
2. A description of how complimentary catering will expand the reach of your event, such as additional speakers or enhanced marketing.
3. The completed Catering Fund form attached as a PDF.

2025-26 Student Organization Catering Fund Form (PDF)

• Decisions are based on the submitted materials.
• The Catering Fund may award partial funding.
• Only on-campus events are eligible.
• Catering orders under 100 people are pickup only. Organizations must provide transportation.
• Saturday evening orders may require advance coordination.
• The Catering Fund provides a line of credit, not a cash allocation.

Before submitting a request, consider the following:

• How will you transport your pickup order?
• Does your venue have adequate table space or refrigeration?
• Is your event casual or formal with a set mealtime?
• Plan for approximately four to five items per person.
