What are Maroon Dollars+?

Maroon Dollars+ are in an account that is separate from your meal plan. They can be used at additional locations, such as the merchandise side of the UChicago Bookstore effective February 1st, 2022.

How do I access my Maroon Dollars+?

Maroon Dollars+ are accessible once you have depleted your Maroon Dollars, which come with your meal plan.  There is no need to inform the cashier, the system will automatically take from the Maroon Dollars+ once you have depleted your Maroon Dollars.

How do I know if the funds were deposited to my account and where can I see the balances for my Maroon Dollars and Maroon Dollars+ accounts?

Log into get.cbord.com/uchicago to view the balances on your Maroon Dollars and Maroon Dollars+ accounts. You can see your past transactions as well as your remaining swipes if you are on the Phoenix or Apartment meal plan.

Who received a board credit for delaying their return to campus in the form of Maroon Dollars+?

We provided additional Maroon Dollars to students who were able to delay their return to campus in an effort to lessen the impact of the Omicron variant on campus, and who did not check-into housing until on or after the 20th of January.  Additionally, meal plan reports were run to verify that no dining swipes were used between the period of January 10 and January 20, 2022.

How many additional Maroon Dollars+ did I receive?
The amount deposited into your Maroon Dollars+ account will vary and is based on your meal plan and the number of unused meal plan swipes from the period of January 10 to 20.

Can I apply my Maroon Dollars or Maroon Dollars+ balance to my Student Account Balance?
No, Maroon Dollars and Maroon Dollars+ funds cannot be applied to your Student Account Balance.
Can I use my Maroon Dollars+ account to purchase additional swipes?
Yes, if you are on the Phoenix or Apartment meal plan and run out of swipes, you can use your Maroon Dollars+ account to purchase an Off-Campus plan ($149 each). Sign up for the plan on our website, and email dining@uchicago.edu to submit your request to pay for your plans with your Maroon Dollars+ account.
Do Maroon Dollars+ expire?
Maroon Dollars+ roll over from quarter to quarter and expire annually on Spring Convocation. This year they will expire on June 4, 2022.
Are Maroon Dollars+ new?
No, if you added funds to your UChicago ID card using the GET Funds portal, then you added Maroon Dollars+. Previously these funds were labeled “Maroon Dollars” and presented next to your meal plan dollars or “Maroon Dollars/Meal Points” in the GET Funds portal.
